Tasmania has a continuous military engineering heritage dating from the first European settlement until 12 Field Squadron RAE was disbanded in December 1987.

12 Field Squadron provided combat engineering support including bridging, demolitions, watermanship and field defences, training across Tasmania and on the mainland.

This page preserves the operational and training history of the Squadron for future generations of Sappers.
